Scottish RYA Junior Champion

For the 3rd year running a Sea Cadet from East Kilbride has been named as the Scottish National RYA Honda Rib champion.
This years regional competition was held at Port Edgar. Cadet Kyle Hughes of the East Kilbride Sea Cadets fought of tough opposition from other youngsters around the country and with a winning time of 2 minutes 4.56 seconds took gold.
Youngsters are broken into 2 categories: Juniors (Aged 8 -12 ), and Seniors (Aged 13 - 16 ). Using an RYA Honda Rib they negotiate a set course using different maneouvres and skills to record the fastest possible time. The winner from each age group is then selected to represent Scotland at the UK National competition held this year at the Southampton Boat Show in September.
